I can still clearly remember the day I hear her smash hit 'Real Love' back in 1992...I was working at a music retailer as a music buyer and cop a advance copy of the single, and I was like "who is this!?!?!" I told everyone that I could about the jam and was an instant fan to this very day! That very same year Mary J. Blige released her debut album, What's the 411? (3x Platinum) on MCA Records/ Uptown and I have purchased every one of her albums since.  Happy Birthday....MJB!

#MaryJBlige shows no signs of slowing down, and I for one ain't mad....Mary is closing out her “Liberation” tour with D’Angelo this month, and she is in Canada this week in Montreal shooting Betty & Coretta a double biopic of Betty Shabazz, which is the role Mary portrays, alongside Angela Bassett (Coretta Scott King).

Mary J. Blige brings out Prince at iHeartRadio Music Festival 2012

#MaryJBlige welcomed a legend during her performance on Day 2 of the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. Four songs into her set, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul stopped short of playing Chaka Khan’s “Sweet Thing” to introduce the royal purple one himself Prince.....

“I got a real good friend in the building,” said Mary to roaring applause. “He’s one of the most amazing artists to ever walk the earth.”

Zoe Saldana replaces Mary J. Blige in Nina Simone in Biopic

Zoe Saldana now has the official role, playing the late jazz icon Nina Simone.  Back in 2010 Mary J. Blige was lined up to play singer Nina Simone in the new biopic that was supposed to start filming last year.

Mary J. Blige & D'Angelo Tour Dates

Mary J. Blige and D’Angelo are bringing their soulful sounds to a city near you. The R&B veterans have announced the first dates for their co-headlining “Liberation” tour.

The nationwide trek kicks off August 18 in Virginia Beach and travels to Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, and Houston. It marks the first U.S. tour in over a decade for the reclusive D’Angelo, who toured briefly in Europe earlier this year and made high-profile appearances at the BET Awards and ESSENCE Music Festival this month.

Melanie Fiona will join them as supporting act.
