Drake Hits The Streets In Disguise On Jimmy Kimmel Live - To Ask People What They Think Of Him

The North Star @Drake was a guest last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Drake brushed up on his acting skills once again, and hit the streets dressed in disguise as part of  “Lie Witness News”. Drizzy was disguised as a hippy/ nerdy type man in beard and wig - basically he looked like a white guy with a beard (come on) and ask random passer-by what their thoughts were about rap artist Drake!

Drake Surprises High School Students With Donation

Strawberry Mansion High School located in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, U.S. is a troubled institution that is critically dysfunctional, unable to properly serve it's 450 students with educational needs and beyond, and was also named one of the United States most dangerous schools, where 96% of the students live in poverty. Earlier in the year the ABC Network aired a special news report with Diane Sawyer on the state of education, and was aired again December 5, 2013. Well, Drizzy Drake watched the report and was motivated to do something to help.

Drake recently travelled to Philadelphia to make a special announcement to the students at Strawberry Mansion High School....

SPORTS: Drake Named Global Ambassador of Toronto Raptors + NBA All-Star Toronto 2016

It was floating in the air this morning, but now it's a done deal...as National Post reported Drizzy #Drake is now the Toronto Raptors sport club new 'global ambassador' and the home town rap star will have say in the team's re-branding! This sounds similar to the major make-over by another NBA franchise when Jay-Z played a large hand in the revamping and a complete move of the now Brooklyn Nets as they are still transitioning, and fine tuning with new additions to their roster Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.

Drake Announces The 4th Annual OVO Fest

 #Drake announced last night his 4th installment of the OVO Fest, which will go down August 4th and 5th at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre here in Toronto (it's also rumored to be at a larger location - Rogers Centre due to crowd volume) when tickets go on sale  there will be a confirmed location. Headliners for Saturday concert will be Frank Ocean and James Blake, and Sunday Drake and 'special guests' will rock the stage.

Drake being a native of Toronto ties his 'festival' in with Toronto's main summer festival that takes place every year - Caribana which attracts over a million visitors to the city...For those who know, you already know how it goes down! New Music: Drake - "5AM in Toronto" + Drake Will Narrate for Kentucky Wildcats Documentary

Drake's side-kick and main producer Noah "40" Shebib released a new track via twitter earlier today entitled '5AM in Toronto'. On this track Drake is going hard, bussin' shots at his haters and biters. 5AM in Toronto is produced by Boi-1da and is somewhat of a follow-up to his freestyle '9AM in Dallas', which maybe included on Drake's next album to be released later in the year.

MUSIC VIDEO: Kendrick Lamar ft. Drake - 'Poetic Justice'

Kendrick Lamar has now release the visuals for the track 'Poetic Justice' featuring Drake, which was filmed in Crenshaw, Los Angeles; and there has been a lot of build-up hype around this track, as it's sampled off Pop Icon Janet Jackson's hit "Anytime, Anyplace" and the song title 'Poetic Justice' is from the 1993 movie starting Janet and Tupac Shakur. Kendrick has been very vocal about his efforts to reach out to Miss. Jackson and have her appear in the music video, but she tuned the offer down or simply did not respond.

NEW VIDEO: Drake - 'Started From The Bottom'

After #Drake picked up a win for Best Rap Album 'Take Care' at the Grammy Awards last night, here comes a new video from Dizzy "Started From the Bottom". Directed by T-Dot's Little X (known as X), he kept the visuals 'home grown' featuring guest appearances by Drake's mother Shani Graham, producer Noah '40' Shebib, close brethrens (friends) OB O'Brien and Ryan. The video shows off the Toronto skyline and popular local retailer 'Shoppers Drug Mart' where Drake and his pals acts as employees, painting a picture of 'starting at the bottom' to ballin' in a mansion at a tropical location.

New Music: Kendrick Lamar ft. Drake – 'Poetic Justice'

#KendrickLamar and #Drake collabo on Drake's album Take Care - 'Buried Alive', and they have teamed up again on KL's upcoming sophomore album entitled good kid, m.A.A.d. city. The two artists have something that is working for them collectively, as they have also toured together earlier this year on Drake's Club Paradise tour; and now have released the new track 'Poetic Justice' which contains one of the baddest Janet Jackson slow jams 'Anytime, Anyplace'.

Aaliyah featuring Drake – Enough Said (Shlohmo Remix)

Yesterday was the 11th anniversary of RnB icon Aaliyah death, and in honor comes another intriguing tribute. This time around, Los Angeles-based producer Shlohmo hits the scene with his chopped up and slowed down interpretation of her Drake-assisted single "Enough Said" of off the forthcoming posthumous Aaliyah, which is being directed by the Toronto native and his partner Noah "40" Shebib.

Video: Drake Covers GQ Magazine

Drake looked dapper on the cover of GQ’s first-ever Style Bible issue. The Toronto rapper let GQ into his home, where he set the own mood for his interview, sitting by the pool with a cold bottle of white wine, and even inviting the interviewer to go down his water slide. But pool and water sliding aside, Drake did speak on some important aspects of his life, beginning with his relationship with his father who left him at the age of 5.

"Me and my dad are friends. We're cool. I'll never be disappointed again, because I don't expect anything anymore from him. I just let him exist, and that's how we get along,” Drake says, getting visibly upset, “But I spent too many nights looking by the window, seeing if the car was going to pull up. And the car never came.”

Drake also discussed how he thinks the rap industry has changed. "Rap now is just being young and fly and having your s--- together," he says, while trying to explain the new generation of rappers he believes himself to a part of, “The mood of rap has changed." Drake believes this new generation of rappers is no longer defined by street credibility like they once were.

Drake Sees Platinum Status

High times continue for Drake. After his sophomore album Take Care has been certified platinum, his Lil Wayne powered single "The Motto" has also surpassed the one million mark in sales. Thus, the single will climb up five spots from 21 to 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In addition, the title track featuring Rihanna has reached the airwaves and is heating up radio stations across the nation.

Video: Drake at NHL All-Star Game (Handshakes + Performance)

Last night Drake attended the NHL All-Star game at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Canada. He was wearing a custom NHL jersey with his name on it, the Toronto native took the ice to perform his hit “Headlines.” He met with the players in the locker room, and mention to one player...“I grew up playing hockey. I used to play right wing,” said a gracious Drizzy as he shook hands and took photos with the all-stars, who were equally excited to meet him....

A$AP Rocky who is an American rapper and director originally from Harlem, NYC and caught fire last August when his single 'Peso' was linked onto the internet, which now has lead to a signing with Sony/RCA.

Drake welcomed him to his hometown at A$AP Rocky show here in Toronto at The Opera House last night. Drizzy performed his Take Care cut “Cameras” and hit single “The Motto” as A$AP stage dived into the audience....

Drake Would Like To Play Barack Obama In A Movie

Drake’s has been circulating his idea through interviews for more than a year. “I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him,” he told Paper magazine back in July 2010. “Anytime I see him on TV, I don't change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I'm pretty good at impressions.”

He adds..."I've been reading scripts for awhile," he told Rolling Stone this year. "I want to do something great. I want to do something for my culture: the younger people who are still in tune with everything going on. I’m actually writing with my friends right now."

Drake’s biracial heritage gives him a similar complexion to Obama’s, and they both happen to hover at just over six feet tall. He’s already proven that he’s got charisma when it comes to the camera,  playing Jimmy Brooks, the wheelchair-bound former basketball player who occasionally rapped awkwardly on Canadian television series "Degrassi: The Next Generation," from 2001 to 2009. In addition, he admitted to Rolling Stone that he’s typically offered roles playing rappers or athletes, he’s hoping and preparing for a chance at his dream role: President Barack Obama.

Interesting....With Drake's acting abilities, and experience, the possibility is definitely there; however I would like to hear his impression of the President to seal the deal.

Drake to Headline 2012 NHL All-Star Game

 

Drake will be taking to the ice to perform at the NHL’s 2012 All-Star Game which goes down on Sunday, January 29^th.

The game takes place in Canada’s capital-city Ottawa, Ontario which has never hosted the NHL event before.

Drake won’t be the only one representing his hometown of Toronto, Ontario as three Maple Leafs players, Phil Kessel, Joffrey Lupul and Dion Phaneuf, all made their way into the game.

Recent champion of NBC’s ‘The Voice’ Javier Colon has the honor of singing ‘The Star Spangled’ banner, while Ottawa Senator’s anthem singer, Lyndon Slewidge, will handle Canada’s national theme ‘Oh Canada.’

The game will start on Sunday, January 29^th at 4 p.m. Eastern and air live on NBC. Ottawa city officials and the NHL have scheduled a number of events which will run over the course of the weekend, but it’s not clear if any of the game’s lead-up will be aired.

He did a good job with his verison, definitely suits Michael....at the same time, it does confirm 'why' MJ is the King, especially when someone else is singing with him. They have similar voices; BUT MJ still 'owned' this version of the song....The Weeknd did a good job keeping up!

New Music: Abel Tesfaye aka 'The Weeknds' from Toronto

Toronto’s up-and-coming R&B artist Abel Tesfaye a.k.a ‘The Weeknd’ is an internet-born star who released his debut mixtape ‘House of Balloons’ for free via his website back in March last year, and capture the attention of music heads. He has gained a cult following even though he is largely reclusive and has only really communicated with fans via Twitter and other social media channels.

He debut a live show a few months back in Toronto, and no cameras were supposed to be allowed....and as soon as he step on stage; all the phones came out!

Over the weekend, The Weeknd AKA Abel Tesfaye developed his stage show at a headlining appearance in Ottawa.

Common Ending Beef Drake

It’s been over a week since Common aimed a verse at Drake on the remix to Rick Ross’ “Stay Schemin’” and the dust has settled for now. Despite trading barbs and dodging accusations that Serena Williams is at the center of the beef, Common maintains that he’s still a fan of the Toronto rapper and has no plans to throw additional words (unless its necessary). "I think he makes good music," Com told Rolling Stone. "He's definitely said some real clever things and made some cool songs. I like his music."
