LISTEN: Keshia Chanté Auditions For ‘Aaliyah’ Biopic

Over the years there has been talk about a biopic of the late RnB princess #Aaliyah, and word through the web is hinting to an August 2014 airing. VH1 producers have been busy selecting the right actress for the starring role, and word has it Canadian RnB princess Keshia Chante who currently host of BET's 106 and Park is a top runner for the part.This comes after Keshia had already made a move for the role back in 2008, but production came to a stop after Aaliyah's family were not fully on board with the project.

WATCH: VH1 - "CrazySexyCool": The TLC Story + Music Video: TLC - "Meant To Be"

I have been following on the up-coming release of this biopic, and in case you missed it...you can watch VH1’s biopic CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story here, which premiered Monday October 21st. The made of television movie pulled in 4.5 million viewers, the highest rated original cable movie of 2013, and VH1’s highest rated movie ever (also generated 1.92 million tweets over twitter with the hash tag #CrazySexyCool the night it aired). The movie tells the story of one of the best selling female group of all-time, through the eyes of group members and executive producers of the film Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas and Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins, as they share their story of the rise to fame as an RnB trio, heartbreaks, personal and financial struggles, and death of member ‘Left-Eye’.  Watch the full movie inside...

VH1 has documented the musical journey and lives of the members of TLC in the up-coming film titled "Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story" directed by Charles Stones III who work includes films 'Drumline', 'Mr. 3000', and 'Paid In Full'. The biopic stars KeKe Palmer (as "Chilli"), Lil Mama (as "Left Eye"), and Drew Sidora (as T-Boz")
