As part of black history month celebrations and TD's 'Then and Now' series an inspiring and entertaining cultural showcase of one of Canada's prominent communities. The lineup of events includes films, concerts, exhibitions, and performances by a host of Canadian and international artists. On February 2nd, 2012 - 7pm at the Cineplex Odeon Varsity and VIP Cinemas they are featuring 'An Evening With Pam Grier' who is an African American actress who became famous in the early 1970s, after starring in a string of successful blaxploitation films such as 1974's Foxy Brown. Her career was revitalized in 1997 after her appearance in Quentin Tarantino's film Jackie Brown. She received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.
My all-time favorite Pam Grier movie (and a part of my top 5 favorite movies of all-time) is 'Coffy'....Love that movie! Ms.Grier you ROCK!
