I really enjoyed Wendy's radio program, as she was very candid, had great guest interviews, and even greater conversations with her phone-in listeners. I started listening to the 'Wendy Williams Experience' as the show was called in 2006 and during that time it became obvious that Wendy was a big fan of Whitney Houston....
As I am. As she spoke of Ms. Houston frequently, more so about Whitney's issues with substance abuse, as this was something the Wendy could relate to having struggle with it herself in the past. They also share other similarities, both being from New Jersey, growing up in the same era's and age group, etc.

Wendy Williams specialty or niche is 'celebrity gossip', always has been and she has to knack for it, as she delivers the drama, news, rumors, and gossip in her own unique way which represent her personality, which is very corky, open and free with 'reason'; and this has ultimately landed her a successful TV gig, that I would watch more often if I could, but comes on way too late at nights on the BET network and I'm busy in the day when it comes on other networks.
Whitney Houston was not pleased with Wendy which can be clearly heard during their 2003 interview, where Whitney took it upon herself to call into the talk-radio diva's show to basically tell Wendy where to 'shove-it' (and kept it 100!!); because Wendy would discuss a lot of the rumors that was being said about Ms. Houston's personal life on her show, and as many media outlets did, fuel the fire of these rumors.
Wendy who I believe was doing her job being a celebrity gossip journalist 'so to speak' walked a fine line doing her job and being a fan of the music legend. You can see that when Wendy spoke of Whitney Houston passing on her show today, what the impact of drug use does to someone, it is something in most cases a life long battle......and is NO JOKE!
What I get out of the struggle of substance abuse that Whitney and Wendy experienced is that they never gave up. Whitney fell many times in front of the world, BUT kept getting back up (she did not receive enough or any credit for that). Wendy fell, BUT continued to get back up with her struggles. Isn't that what life is about...getting up and pushing forward??

On February 9th, there was an interview and rehearsal session with Brandy, Monica and Clive Davis. During a break in the interview rounds, Whitney Houston entered the scene and handed Brandy what appears to be a note, and gave everyone their hugs, including Bobbi Kristina who hugged Clive Davis whom Whitney called her "Godfather".
After listen to the video- audio a few times over, it seems the conversation went like this:
Whitney: I went swimming in the water.
Monica: Again?!
Whitney: I do two hours a day, (hands paper to brandy) this is for you. Two hours a day I have to.
Monica: I wish I could swim, I'm just saying it cause I can't
Whitney: I love it.
(Seems like Whitney was physically active)
