Radio Music Society is the studio album by Esperanza Spalding released today - and who is best known as a jazz bassist and singer. In February 2011, at the 53rd Grammy Awards, Spalding won the "Best New Artist" award, making her the first jazz artist to win the award. By the time Spalding was five years old, she had taught herself to play the violin and was playing with the Chamber Music Society of Oregon until the age of fifteen, and left as concertmaster.
Spalding appeared on the “Late Show with David Letterman" last night along with the First Lady Michelle Obama. The visual companion for her new single "Radio Song" has also been released and the narrative clip hints at the healing power of radio music and its ability to combat daily stress.
