Toronto Is Ready To 'Groove' To It's Newest Caribbean/ Urban Radio Station G98.7 FM

After a few obstacles and a false start, as the original live to air was schedule for November 14th; Toronto is getting ready for the official launch of Toronto Caribbean/ Urban radio station, G98.7 FM (CKFG). Based on the station press release, they will cater to a mature audience playing a mixture of new and old R&B, Soul, Reggae, Soca, Hip Hop, Worldbeat, Gospel and Smooth Jazz in its regular rotation; and on weekend G98.7 will offer specialty shows providing Reggae, Soca, Gospel, and African music, as well as interactive talk programming that reflects the diversity of its audience.

G98.7’s Morning Show will be hosted by Mark Strong & Jemeni, who were previously with Milestone Radio, which name then changed to FLOW 93.5 which lasted 10 years; which almost seems like an 'eye blink' although much effort was put into bringing Toronto first black-owned commercial Urban Radio station alive. FLOW was no longer after been sold for a reported $27 million to CTV by then CEO Denhem Jolly.

There is also other DJ's returning to the airwaves such as Dr. Jay and Spex and we will be introduced to new on air personalities.  You can tune in Monday November 28th as they go live to air.
