Dwight Myers a.k.a. Heavy D will be chronicled in a documentary airing this Sunday on Centric TV (part of BET Network - check your channel listings), entitled "Be Inspired: The Life of Heavy D". The documentary will feature interviews with the Jamaican-born rapper's family and artists such as Will Smith, Mary J. Blige and Queen Latifah, and others. Heavy D is considered one of the most influential rap artists of the late 80s and early 90s, both as the front man for his group, 'Heavy D and The Boyz', and as a solo artist....
His talents also included acting in theater and television. The late Mr. Myers appeared in "The Tracy Morgan Show", "Law and Order", "Boston Public" and other shows; most recently he played a courthouse guard in the movie "Tower Heist." He passed away November 2011 at age 44, from a blood clot in his lung.
