T.O. Spotlight: DJ Fase

@DJFase is no stranger to the fader! He's been a Disc Jockey for 20 years and shows no signs of slowing down. He is also a music producer, radio host, and entertains music goers spinning at showcases/ concerts, and the Toronto club scene. Starting out with a couple friends in 1992 forming a trio collective of DJ's; shortly after, he became solo, found his passion and never looked back. To date, DJ Fase has been nominated for the Canada wide Stylust DJ Awards seven times; released an album and numerous singles, and 10 years on the radio at CIUT 89.5 FM -Toronto's longest running mid-weekly show. In 2001 the versatile DJ put his producing skills to work as one half of the hip hop duo 'Abdominal & DJ Fase', better known as (Abs & Fase); with the release of their album Flowtation Device the same year. They toured across Canada, Denmark, Sweden and the UK. DJ Fase has since opened for acts such as Nas, The Roots, K'Naan, Africa Bambataa, The Original Jazzy Jay, De La Soul, k-os, Mos Def, M.O.P., Camp Lo, Sadat X, John Legend, Jamiroquai, Black Eyed Peas with Justin Timberlake, DJ A-Trak, Blackalicious, Jurassic 5, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Kool Keith and more....His dee jaying style covers the scope by playing hip-hop, soul, jazz, house, old school,...you name it, he plays it.

You can catch DJ Fase on CIUT 89.5 FM which has been his 'on air' home for over 10 years, as he holds down two weekly time slots "Stolen Moments" - Tuesday afternoon's from 3p-5p and also "Stylistic Endeavours" - Friday evenings from 8p-10p. Also check out his podcast here.
