Originally from Chicago, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is a 9-piece group featuring 8 brothers who started as a street ensemble before the recorded release ' Flipside' in 2004. They have performed with Mos Def, Aquilla Sadalla, The Recipe, Tony Allen, and their father legendary jazz musician Phil Cohran. The ensemble are doing big things contributing to the original motion picture score for The Hunger Games, with the track 'War' (you can listen here ).
After the break you can watch a mini documentary of the group....
The video clip is a few years old, however a good starting place to get to know who they are and where they are headed.
They are scheduled to release a new album soon, entitled Hypnotic Brass Live In Concert:
Jazz, Volume 1.
We will let you know the official release date, when it becomes available.
