Mega City Movement - A Spotlight on Toronto: Entertainment, Artists, Music, Lifestyle & Sports
Cris Cab 'Rihanna's Gun' ft. Wyclef & Mavado (Did Ri Ri shoot herself??)
With all the talk involving Chris Brown and Rihanna coming together for remixes, which may very well mean they are possibility together again. I mean, are these the kind of lyrics one would sing to someone that previously knocked you out...
Birthday Cake - Remix
[Rihanna]
It's not even my birthday
But her wanna lick the icing off
I know you want it in the worst way (the worst way)
Can't wait to blow my candles out
He want that cake, cake, cake...
(You wanna put your name on it)
[Chris Brown]
Legggo
Girl I wanna f#*k you right now (right now)
Been a long time, I've been missing your body
Let me-let me turn the lights down
When I go down, it's a private party
Ooooh, it's not even her birthday
But I wanna lick the icing off
Give it to her in the worst way
Can't wait to blow her candles out
I want that cake, cake, cake...
REALLY!??
Mega hit maker The Dream who originally wrote the song with Rihanna and produced the remix, was a bit surprised with Rihanna's pick for the feature and he expressed his feeling regarding the collaboration recently when he spoke with MTV News.
"At the end of the day, she's my friend, so whatever she wants to do is whatever she wants to do,"
"She's pretty smart too. The same questions that went through my mind, and I'm an artist also, had to have gone through hers," The-Dream told "RapFix Live." "When she raised the question to me, I know she's not crazy. So my thought was you've been thinking about this, you've already thought it out, so evidently you know what reaction you gonna get."
The-Dream says that it all boils down to forgiveness. "Don't say you know how to forgive when you don't," he warned. "Everybody knows what took place, cool. Have the power to really forgive if that's what it is, if not stay on that side of the fence from the beginning."
This situation puts me in mind of a track we featured last month by Cris Cab "Rihanna's Gun" ft. Wyclef & Mavado. There is nothing wrong with forgiveness, however she may have shot herself in foot or even her music career with these recent moves. (Seriously, this is like Tina Turner hooking up with Ike Turner for remixes - makes no sense!)
