#SuperBowl bound Patrick Chung must have one the most colorful family backgrounds in the NFL. His mother, Sophia George, was a Jamaican singer known for the 1985 reggae hit “Girlie Girlie”; his father, Ronald “Piggy” Chung, produced the song, which became so huge in England it landed young George on Top of the Pops.

His brother, as it turns out, is a well-known choreographer and ballet professor (yes, ballet professor). Chung, who enrolled in college at the University of Oregon at age 16, grew up in Snoop Dogg’s adopted hometown of Rancha Cucamonga, Calif., of all places....

When the New York Giants and New England Patriots meet on Sunday for a rematch of one of the greatest Super Bowls in memory, the game will also be a showcase for the NFL’s top Caribbean players. As it turns out, the two teams collectively feature four key contributors with Caribbean roots. For the Giants, it’s Haitian-American defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul and salsa-dancing, Puerto Rico-repping hero wide receiver Victor Cruz.
